Greek Technology/inventions/architecture
Many Greek inventions had a purpose and was meant to make life easier for daily life. A lot Greek in mentions are still used today but was modified. Some example of Greek inventions are cranes, crossbows, wheelbarrows and catapults. Some famous ones are:
Automatic doors
Automatic doors would open when the was lit at the altar place and would statues would move simultaneously with the automatic doors. Priest would mainly use the automatic doors because they feared not honoring their God. They used the hydraulic system to make temple doors open automatically. The hydraulic system helps the machine work smoothly with water.
Hero of Alexandra steam engine
Alexandra was Greek mathematicians, engineers and inventors. Alexandra created the worlds first steam engine. The engine sphere part of the engine had water in it, when someone heats up the water it starts to boil and eventually creates steam, the steam exits through the two nozzles. Later the steam engine was change so it could rotate.
Air and Water pumps
Alexandria e was a great Greek mechanical genius. Only using water and air he created many things. He made portable air and water pumps to put out fires quickly in his big city. This is very similar to the water hose used by fireman.
